CF Lions Club inducts two new members
CRYSTAL FALLS — The Crystal Falls Lions Club recently inducted two new members into the club. They are Beth Pauliot and Alan Carrier III.
King Lion Al Carrier, sponsored of his son, Alan Carrier III, and Lion Ray Bortolini sponsored Pauliot. Performing the induction ceremony was Past District Governor Gene Schiavo.
The Crystal Falls Lions Club met at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Crystal Falls, with the dinner served by members of the VFW.
The two new members have been serving with the Lions Club since the Bass Festival last July.
They have already been working hard to help the Lions serve the local communities of Crystal Falls, Iron River and North Dickinson.
“They are just what our club, and most service clubs need to continue our great tradition,” Schiavo said. “Our motto is ‘We serve.'”
“New young people are the future of all service clubs,” he added.
This is a special year for the Lions Clubs of the world, as they are celebrating 100 years of Lionism. The Lions began their service to the world on June 7, 1917, in Chicago. Special centennial pins were presented to the two new members, as were special centennial sponsorship pins to the two sponsors.
The new Centennial pins were provided to the club by current District Governor, Matt Doney of the Vulcan-Loretto-Norway Lions Club.
