GeNola Herman receives special violin performance for 96th birthday
IRON MOUNTAIN — Heather Lantagne performed her first violin recital at Family Ties Adult Center on Feb. 10, in honor of GeNola Herman’s 96th birthday.
Herman’s favorite songs are “Jingle Bells” and “Happy Birthday. “
Lantagne graciously played her favorite songs several times to make her birthday celebration extra special.
Lantagne is 10 1/2 years old and has been taking violin lessons from Iris Wallner for nine months. She is home-schooled and history is her favorite subject. She also enjoys interior design and designing buildings.
She is the daughter of Michelle and Glenn Lantagne and granddaughter of Bruce and Eileen LaLiberte, who also enjoyed her first recital along with the staff and participants of Family Ties Adult Center.
Family Ties is a part of the Dickinson-Iron Community Services Agency. They are funded in part by UPCAP, VA, Dickinson County Senior Millage and The United Way of Dickinson County.
