Local students receive degrees from Michigan Tech
HOUGHTON — Twelve local students were among the nearly 1,000 graduates honored at Michigan Technological University’s spring commencement April 29 on the Houghton campus.
Michigan Tech alumna Paula Wittbrodt, a 1993 graduate, was the commencement speaker. Wittbrodt is vice president of international business development and chief of staff to the group president international of Estee Lauder.
Recognized during commencement ceremonies was Pat Anthony, ’57 the first woman to earn a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Michigan Tech.

Iron River — Casey Strom, bachelor of science in electrical engineering, and certificate in electric power engineering;
Kingsford — Jeffrey Gregory, bachelor of science in engineering management; Mary Tedeschi, bachelor of science in medical laboratory science;
Quinnesec — Devin Wickman, bachelor of science in chemical engineering;
Vulcan — Connor LeBombard, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering; Jordan Truitt, bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.
