Local Brew to play at Music in the Park
NORWAY — A trio of talented Iron Mountain area musicians will appear for the fourth installment of Music In The Park 2017.
Local Brew will play at the free summertime series at 7 p.m. Thursday at the band shell in downtown Norway.
Formed in 2012, Local Brew is an acoustic trio playing a wide range of music from traditional to modern pop to toe-tapping Americana folk.
Members of the group include Katy Recla, vocals, keyboard, ukulele; Doug Recla, guitar and vocals; and Tony Sullivan, bass guitar and vocals.
Local Brew performs tunes from Old Crow Medicine Show, Mumford and Sons, The Grateful Dead, Maroon 5, Dolly Parton, The Lumineers and many more.
“It’s a show unlike any others around, sure to put a smile on your face and some rhythm in your soul — bring your dancing shoes,” Carol Sundstrom, event coordinator.
This is their first time performing in the Norway Band Shell, and they are excited to be a part of this summer concert series.
The Norway Music Boosters will sell drinks, ice cream, and other light concessions. Some seating is available at the band shell, but those taking in the performances can bring lawn chairs to enjoy the music.
The Music in the Park season schedule:
— July 13: Iron Daisy Acoustic of Iron Mountain/Marquette.
— July 20: Tohubohu of Escanaba.
— July 27: The Phil Lynch Quartet of Iron Mountain/Escanaba.
— Aug. 3: The Johnsons Bluegrass Band of Foster City.
— Aug. 10: Teen Talent Showcase, featuring local middle and high school musicians.
