Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church plans fundraiser

The fundraiser for Blanche Lantz will include a drawing for a quilt, shown here by Ruth Ann Nord, left, and Mary Jane Bloom.

FELCH — Members of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Felch will host a fundraiser for church member Blanche Lantz, an older widow who faces substantial emergency home repairs.

Lantz’s basement wall collapsed from the excessive water in June and she does not have the finances to get it repaired without help.

The congregation has planned an event from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Felch Community Center in Felch. The meal will be $7 for adults, $4 for children; those younger than 5 are free.

In addition to the meal, there will also be drawings including a quilt made by Zion’s quilting group, a make-an-offer rummage sale and a bake sale.

“Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a meal, check out the activities, and help a person in need,” organizer Edna Mattson said.
