State retirees plan luncheon on Sept. 11

ESCANABA — The Upper Peninsula Chapter 16 of the State Employee Retirees Association (SERA) will hold its fall luncheon on Monday, Sept. 11, at noon Eastern time at the Highland Golf Club, located seven miles west of Escanaba on highway U.S 2./41.

All members and guests are encouraged to attend. It is important to make reservations for the luncheon by Friday, Sept. 2, by calling Frank Berres at 906-786-2965 or Arlene Paulson at 906-786-7199.

The program will feature visits from a redistricting expert, Tim Morgan (candidate), Arva Overton, (BC/BS rep) and State Rep. Scott Dianda, D- Calumet.

The raffle ticket winners will be selected for prize drawings and 50/50 drawing and those who attend will have the opportunity to meet other members while enjoying a delicious luncheon (ice cream included).

If you are a retired state employee or a current employee considering retirement give some thought to becoming a SERA member come to the luncheon to enroll. The $20 per year dues include four newsletters a year that provide information on pension, health care, election and assorted requests to our legislators.
