Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry at Crossroads in Norway
Norway — Free food will be distributed at 5 p.m. Friday at the Crossroads Alliance church facility at 130 O’Dill Drive in Norway, home of Bethany Lutheran Church and Grace United Methodist Church.
The doors will not open until 4 p.m. at the earliest. It will be helpful if people bring bags or containers to put the food in, although some will be provided and available for those who need it.
This food distribution is sponsored jointly by Bethany Lutheran, Evangelical Covenant, Grace United Methodist, Living Hope Community Bible Church and St. Mary’s/St. Barbara’s parishes.
Feeding America is bringing the mobile food pantry to the area from the West Michigan Food Bank near Grand Rapids, Mich. It operates a network of food banks and is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
Anyone who needs food assistance is welcome to come receive produce and groceries that have been made available by donations and partnerships from people and corporations that share the goal of solving the problem of hunger in America.
Income verification is not needed, however, participants will be asked to sign a registry that says they have received food and fall within the income guidelines.
For more information or to volunteer to help with distribution, call the Rev. Irene White, pastor at the Grace United Methodist Church, at 906-563-8917.
