Sonya Nelson, left, council president, and Pastor Paul Strom, far right, presents a $4,000 check from Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain to Pastor Prosper and Dr. Victoria to Fukayosi Sub-Parish, one of four different sub-parishes the church has helped to support over the years. Our Saviour’s has partnered with Kijitonyama Lutheran Church in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa, for more than 20 years. As a companion church, Our Saviour’s has had several groups of people travel to Tanzania to meet members of their church and get to know them better, experience their culture, help with projects, and feel the pure joy and love they feel for the local parish members. In 2010 choir members from Kijito visited and gifted the parish with their traditional music and ritual dancing performance. Members of Kijito continue to visit and other parts of the country often. Recently, Dr. Victoria Kisyombe and Pastor Prosper James Kinyaha were here visiting and sharing the message of the gospel.
