Four G-AC students become new members of National Honor Society

Four Goodman-Armstrong Creek High School students — from left, Stanley Maruszczak, Colby Nelson, Caleb Nelson and Madelynn Mitchem — recently were inducted into the National Honor Society.

GOODMAN, Wis. — Stanley Maruszczak, Colby Nelson, Caleb Nelson and Madelynn Mitchem from the Goodman-Armstrong Creek High School were inducted into membership of the National Honor Society in a ceremony Dec. 11 at the Goodman Clubhouse.

They were selected by a faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character. The four join current members Rachel Braaten, Stanley Kessel, Kimberly Cole, Jared Knutson and Trevor Kalkofen.

“We are very proud to recognize these outstanding members of our student body,” said Richelle Jochem, chapter advisor. “National Honor Society members are chosen for and then expected to continue their exemplary contributions to the school and community,”

The National Honor Society ranks as one of the oldest and most prestigious national organizations for high school students. Chapters exist in more than 60 percent of the nation’s high schools. Since 1921, millions of students have been selected for membership.

The Goodman-Armstrong Creek chapter has been active since 1972.
