IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Library’s activities through Jan. 20 include:

Today

Lego Club at 4 p.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. Kids can explore structural design and teamwork while using Legos to build fantastic structures, dreamscapes, and more. Each month will feature a mystery theme that will be revealed at club. Lego Club is for students in third through eighth grades.

Thursday

Lego Club at 3:30 p.m. at the Solomonson Branch in Norway. Lego Club is for students in third through eighth grades.

Saturday

Make-N-Take Craft for kids of all ages at 10 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain and Solomonson Branch in Norway. Families and children of all ages can stop by to make and decorate a corner bookmark, and young adults attending the Dickinson Area Community Foundation event “Christmas in the Wizarding World,” are encouraged to make bookmarks with a Harry Potter theme.

Monday

Color your stress away with Relaxing Rainbows at 10:30 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. Adults are invited for an hour of quiet stress relief through the meditative relaxation of coloring. Coloring sheets, pens and other materials will be provided. This program is open to adults only.

Wednesday, Jan. 10

A Novel Bunch Book Club meets at 2 p.m. at the Solomonson Branch in Norway. The Novel Bunch book selection is chosen at the meeting each month for the upcoming month: attend the program to cast your vote. Reading guides for this book are available at the Solomonson Branch and on the Dickinson County Library website, www.dcl-lib.org. New members are always welcome.

Family Games Nights, 6 p.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. Kids, teens and families are invited to drop in at any time during the program to play a variety of board and card games, or bring your own.

Tuesday, Jan. 16

Parents with babies are invited to Baby Lit at 10:30 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. It’s never too early to introduce your child to an environment that promotes imagination, learning and fun. Read, sing and play along with babies up to age 2 and learn about early literacy practices you can engage in at home. 

Wednesday, Jan. 17

 Music and Rhyme Wiggle Time at 10:30 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. These storytimes will engage toddlers ages 2 and 3 in playing and learning to foster a lifelong love of reading.

Thursday, Jan. 18

Rising Readers at 10:30 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. These storytimes will engage preschoolers in play and learning experiences that will get them excited about reading.

Tremendously Tall Tales at 3:30 p.m. at the Solomonson Branch in Norway. This program will engage children in kindergarten through fifth grade with fantastic stories, including “A Catfish Tale” by Whitney Stewart and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” by Judi Barrett. Kids can participate in activities that tie in with these tales, and make a craft to take home.

 Upcycle used books with Bookcycle: Bookish Birdhouses, at 6 p.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. This series of craft recycling programs will challenge you to salvage old books by using their covers and pages to create literary decorations. This month, they’ll construct birdhouses. Books and craft materials will be available. Call the Dickinson County Library at 906-774-1218 to register for this program.

Friday, Jan. 19

Anime Club during the Nordic Lunch Bunch at 11:15 a.m. at the North Dickinson Branch. Young adults in sixth grade and up will watch anime episodes, suggest anime and manga for our collection, and more. This program is sponsored by The Friends of the Dickinson County Library.

Saturday, Jan. 20

Tremendously Tall Tales at 11 a.m. at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain. This program will engage children in grades kindergarten through fifth with fantastic stories including “A Catfish Tale” by Whitney Stewart and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” by Judi Barrett. Kids can participate in activities that tie in with these tales, and make a craft to take home.

UPCOMING:

The ninth annual Prom Dress Swap will be Saturday, March 3, and Sunday, March 4. The Dickinson County Library is now accepting donations of lightly used prom dresses and other prom accessories to be given out to promgoers who attend the Swap.
