Holy Spirit School hosts fundraiser on Saturday
Public invited to ‘Evening with Artistic Impressions and Interludes’
NORWAY — Make your St. Patrick’s Day memorable with an evening full of scintillating music, art, food and fine wines at Holy Spirit School in Norway.
The public is invited to “An Evening with Artistic Impressions and Interludes” from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the school’s activity center.
Entertainment will be provided by several talented local musicians. Dr. Michael dela Cruz will play selections on the piano and Catherine Pollard Gendron, Christina Pollard, and Lexi Negro, alumni of the school, will reunite as Tre Bella Voce.
Joining them will be Christina Pollard playing selections on her ukulele and vocal performance by Anna Anderson, a junior at Norway High School.
On display and available for purchase will be many pieces by local artists, including handcrafted pottery, homemade quilts, hand-hewn woodworking, paintings and framed photos.
Some of these items will be drawn for, while others will be available as silent auction items, such as a unique nativity scene.
Between musical sets, everyone will be able to enjoy the opportunity to taste the unique wines of Leigh’s Garden Winery of Escanaba. And also enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres prepared under the direction of Renee Pollard.
Tickets are $20 per person; be aware that space is limited.
“Please join us for a spectacular night of culture and art to help us raise money for our school,” said Dr. Kristen Ball, fundraiser co-coordinator.
Tickets may be purchased at Holy Spirit School, 201 Saginaw St. in Norway, by calling the school office during the day at 906-563-8817 or Ball in the evening at 906-396-0088.
“If you are unable to attend, monetary donations are also appreciated, as well as your prayers,” said co-coordinator Alyssa dela Cruz, a fourth-grade student at Holy Spirit who has dedicated much of her free time to this project. “I love my schools.”
