Legislative dinner on Saturday at Post 50

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Upper Peninsula Association of American Legion Posts seventh annual Legislative Dinner is planned for Saturday.

The Uren-Cooper-Johnson Post 50 of Iron Mountain will host the event, with cocktails from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The dinner and “roast” is to recognize and show appreciation for elected legislators and their continued attention to veterans issues in a light-hearted atmosphere.

The emcee for the event will be Ray Moore, national executive committee man for the American Legion in Michigan.

The menu will include chateaubriand beef tenderloin as the main entree. Cost is $20 per person.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Post 50, 916 River Ave. in Iron Mountain, or by calling 906-774-5797 from 2 to 10 p.m.

As this an annual American Legion event, all veterans are encourage to attend. The dinner is open to the public.

American Legion Post 50 of Iron Mountain is the home of Oscar G. Johnson Congressional medal of Honor recipient.
