CF Museum Society cemetery tour at Evergreen Cemetery

CRYSTAL FALLS — The Crystal Falls Museum Society will host a tour of Evergreen Cemetery starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The tour will feature more than 20 of the 685 people buried in sections 1 Catholic and 2 Protestant. Bill Leanoff will be the lead narrator. The group requests a $5 donation.

Those to be profiled will include businessmen Marcellus Lindsay, Martin Rogan, Paul Schook, Matt Hurja and John Bauer; hardware dealer Richard Hollow; livery owner John Soderman; and farmers Fedele Fauri, Alex Dalpha, Sam Lada, Peter Crossett and John Tuffs.

Also on the tour will be Lina Schook Peebles, the generous donor of many things at the Harbour House Museum, and a military family, the Rossis.

Comfortable shoes are recommended for the event.

If bad weather develops Saturday, the tour will be postponed to 9 a.m. Sept. 1.

Local mine and railroad maps will be available for $10.
