Parkinson meeting Thursday

KINGSFORD — The next meeting of the Parkinson Society support group will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford.

This meeting is open to Parkinson’s disease patients, caregivers, family and friends. Coffee and snacks will be available. Those attending are asked to bring a snack to share.

Natasha Maule, a physical therapy assistant, will speak on the potential benefits of massage for Parkinson’s patients.  

Maule is employed at UP Rehab Services in Kingsford, where she specializes in outpatient orthopedics, geriatric rehabilitation and Parkinson’s rehabilitation.

She recently received certification in massage therapy as well.

The group also will discuss the recent symposium, Parkinson’s treatments and any other concerns.
