Annual Taste of Chocolate event planned in Norway
NORWAY — The Partners of Jake Menghini Museum in Norway will host the annual Taste of Chocolate on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Norway Senior Center at 608 Main St. in Norway.
For a $5 admission fee, person may sample all the chocolate and traditional holiday sweets on display, from which you may select an assortment of homemade favorites to take home, if you so desire. Along with the sweet samples, free coffee, punch, cheese, sausage and crackers will be available.
As in the past, this event will include drawing baskets valued between $50 an $100. Some featured items include an American Girl doll, a Thanksgiving dinner basket, a Christmas basket, wine basket, “A Night Out” basket and a cash basket.
Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Person don’t need to be present to win. Hourly prizes will be awarded for those who stay, as well as door prizes.
The central display this year will be Grandma’s Kitchen, with antique items related to yesteryear’s family food preparation. Of special interest is a large selection of “Sad Irons” from the collection of Sandy Corsi.
Quests will enjoy a guessing game regarding nostalgic household items with prizes for correct answers.
All proceeds of the Taste of Chocolate benefit the operation of Norway’s Jake Menghini Museum.
“The event is designed to make your holidays lighter, brighter and more enjoyable,” said organizer Judy Carlson.
