Iron County Genealogical Society meets Thursday in Caspian

IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Iron County Historical Museum in Caspian.

Museum Director Glen Waarvik will introduce the group to the Archives Research Room, which has been rearranged to be more conducive for genealogical research.

Helpful items such as obituaries, newspapers, yearbooks, and maps will be shown. Group member Patty Isaacson, who has been a regular volunteer at the museum for several years, also will tell about her experiences in helping with genealogical inquiries the museum has received, as well as other projects that she has worked on.

Time will be available after the meeting for anyone who would like to stay to do some research.

Those planning to attend should note the change of location for this meeting. For more information, go to the website at www.ironcountymigenealogicalsociety.org.
