Santini returning to area to present Reiki workshop

IRON MOUNTAIN – Iron Mountain High School graduate Maria Santini is returning to the area to present a workshop on Reiki, an alternative healing/holistic health practice.

The workshop in the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. with a break for lunch. Santini said that the location will be determined by how many people sign up.

In addition, she will be taking personal appointments for Reiki or Angel Card Readings while she’s in the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area from Wednesday, Aug. 20 through Friday, Aug. 22.

After graduating from IMHS in 2005, she went on to Central Michigan University, graduating in 2010. She has lived in Chicago, Costa Rica and for more than a year, in Los Angeles.

Santini is a Reiki master and teacher, Angel Card reader, and a writer. She is currently working on her first book, a self-help memoir, that is set to be published in 2015.

“My goal is to enlighten and share Reiki with as many people around the world as possible. I am in the process of creating workshops in multiple locations throughout the United States as well as currently putting together retreats to Costa Rica and other locations,” she said.

She has created her own business, The Blissful Experience, with the intention to help guide others along their life path using her gifts/healing abilities.

“I intend to help people create, live and experience a blissful life. Everything that I am creating and working on has been divinely guided for the highest and greatest good. My ‘work’ comes from a pure, loving place within my heart and all I want to do is share my light with others,” Santini added.

With her workshops, she noted that there are four levels of Reiki – first degree, second degree, masters and teachers. The workshop she will be holding in the local area is a level one or first degree Reiki.

First degree Reiki increases healing energy in your life, enhances personal growth and qualifies you as a Reiki practitioner. She noted that Reiki is one of the few healing modalities that is utilized for self-healing treatments and for offering energy work to others.

“In Reiki, students receive attunements, which empower them to do Reiki. This is a spiritual process where healing energy is activated and enhanced. The attunements can have a subtle to profound affect on one’s life,” she said.

In the workshop, participants will learn the history of Reiki, how it works, how to do a self-treatment, how to do a treatment on others as well as receive a Reiki treatment. There will be a group meditation, the attunement process, and a closing discussion to wrap up the day.

Santini added that participants will leave the workshop with a first degree Reiki booklet containing all information for their future practice as well as a certification of completion.
