Free dental care provided to 124 people at one-day event
IRON MOUNTAIN — A total of 124 people were provided with free dental care during the 11th annual Dentistry From the Heart event Saturday in Iron Mountain.
“The day of free care for the community has been a great success. We want to extend our deep appreciation to all of our volunteers and supporters who helped to contribute to the annual event,” a spokesman said.
Dr. John and Dr. Dan Fornetti, along with their team of employees, volunteers and sponsors, were able to complete 293 procedures during the day. The amounted to more than $44,000 in donated services.
Dentistry From The Heart began in 2001 with New Port Richey dentist Dr. Vincent J. Monticciolo. It was a way to give back to the community and provide aid to a growing number of people without dental insurance.
In the past 14 years, Dentistry From The Heart events have contributed more than $11 million in free dentistry and helped more than 55,000 patients across the country.
