CRYSTAL FALLS — Two employees of the Victorian Heights and Iron County Medical Care facilities were recognized with the Hearts and Hands awards during the 28th annual banquet.

Emily Martin, customer service associate at Victorian Heights, and Paula Krause, certified nursing assistant at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, were honored with the annual s awards.

The award are given to a person from the services staff and a person from the nursing staff that go above and beyond what is required of them in their daily duties.

The process to choose the most commendable staff begins each year with the opportunity for all employees to submit nominations. Once the nominations are gathered, a committee is formed and those on the committee select the two employees who they feel are the most deserving.

Chester Pintarelli, administrator, announced the names of this year’s recipients, and noted they were both, “very deserving individuals who went above and beyond their call of duty for the improved quality of care of our residents.”

The two women were congratulated and thanked for their service and dedication to the well-being of the residents and tenants, positive attitudes, and willingness to go above and beyond what their job duties ask of them.

For their continued loyalty, Martin and Krause each received a plaque and a weekend stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Green Bay, Wis.

Along with the special award honorees, the facilities also recognized employees for their continued years of service.
