IRON MOUNTAIN — The new Major 10th Music Studio will offer private music instruction in its Midtown Mall location in Iron Mountain.

The studio is owned and operated by Thomas Niebrzydowski, who has been teaching music for 18 years.

The Major 10th Music Studio offer private instruction for guitar, ukulele, banjo, bass and mandolin.

An official grand opening for the studio, which started May 1, will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the kiosk across from the Christopher and Banks store.

The grand opening will feature refreshments, live music and a drawing for a month of free lessons, Niebrzydowski said.

In addition to the lesson, the studio also has some items available for sale, including guitars, ukuleles, accessories and sheet music.

Niebrzydowski originally is from Portland, Ore. and received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He specializes in classical guitar and also preps students for jazz guitar bands in school.

At the Major 10th Music Studio, Niebrzydowski said he will consider children as young as age 5 as students.

And something to look forward to in the future at the studio will be more general music classes being offered.

“Classes in things like music theory would be open to anyone and give the student a better understanding of music,” he said.
