The class will be geared toward those who have never used Excel up to lower-intermediate skill levels. The class will be using functions that are commonly used in business settings.
“This class is great for those that are looking to change careers, those just entering the workforce, and those who want to stay competitive in a technologically advancing world,” organizers said.
The class will cover a variety of topics including reasons to use Excel and the basic beginning use of Excel.
Microsoft Excel will also touch on basic math, money, sorting, find/replace, hiding text, freezing panes, adding pictures, printing, wrapping text, merging and unmerging text and format painting.
The class also covers basic formulas like Trim, Concatenate, Rounding and Vlookup as well as basic functions and formating such as text columns, date and time formats, cutting off text and transposing information.
Students can also bring in a laptop if they want to class. There will be a workbook for the class that they can follow along. Laptop users should also have Microsoft Excel downloaded onto their system prior to coming to class.
Students unable to bring in a laptop wil still be able to follow along with the handout that is given at class as well as walk through the examples on the front screen, organizers added.
