IRON MOUNTAIN –The Dickinson Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, in partnership with hearing aid manufacturer ReSound, recently awarded a free pair of hearing aids to Marshall Kesler of Iron Mountain through its third annual Gift of Hearing initiative.

The donation aims to reward an individual who has a history of working hard to improve the lives of others. The winner receives a hearing evaluation, a pair of premium technology hearing aids and all follow-up care.

In nominating him, daughter Marchell Merkel stated, “Marshall Kesler, my dad, takes care of my mom who has dementia. He is 85 years old and does the shopping, cleaning, washing and cooking, all while taking care of my mom.” Merkel added her dad does this without complaining and continues to have a great sense of humor and positive outlook.

“Over the past two years I wondered why everyone was speaking softer than they used to,” Kesler said. “I am so grateful for the nomination and so thankful for this wonderful gift.”
