Faucett Forest Products becomes Joy Wood Products

Faucett Forest Products in Peshtigo, Wis. has become Joy Wood Products.

PESHTIGO, Wis. — Faucett Forest Products, a sawmill and pallet business in Peshtigo, has been acquired by Daryl and Maureen Joy and re-named Joy Wood Products.

The producer of wood pallets, crates and skids was in foreclosure and purchased at a sheriff’s sale by the Joys, who came across the opportunity in the paper. The sawmill will compliment one of their existing businesses, Mountain Woods furniture.

“We are cutting lumber to send out to the plant in Laramie, Wyoming, to make furniture,” Daryl Joy said.

Joy Wood Products retained the eight employees of Faucett, which had been in business since 1970, changing ownership multiple times.

In October, Joy Wood Products was certified to heat treat pallets used in the food manufacturing industry as well as for international export. “All wood packaging materials that are used in international shipping must be heat treated by a certified company,” Daryl Joy explained.

Joy Wood Products also makes custom-size pallets. The manufacturer primarily serves northeast Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Large orders can be shipped throughout the U.S.

Daryl Joy was in the trucking industry for 34 years until Joy Trucking was sold. When he retired from the transport industry, he had more than 200 employees and 160 over-the-road trucks.

The Joys bought Mountain Woods Furniture in December 2011. They also own and lease many commercial buildings in the area through Joy Properties. They are lifelong Peshtigo residents and active in the community.
