Great Lakes Recovery Center expands services in Iron County

IRON RIVER — Great Lakes Recovery Centers has added Ben Ryan as a prevention specialist and Communities That Care coordinator in its Iron County office, 305 W. Genesee St. in Iron River.

Ryan will be working on developing a coalition to address key risk factors, along with providing programs to schools and communities in Iron County.

The focus of the Communities That Care model is to identify risk and protective factors and fill gaps within the community.

Ryan is very active in Dickinson and Iron counties. He has been a lifelong member and skier for Badwater Ski-ters, coach for U14 hockey, a Kiwanis member and involved with the chambers of commerce in Dickinson and Iron counties.

Great Lakes Recovery Centers is a 501(c)(3) non- profit organization that provides a variety of behavioral health services across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula including prevention, mental health and substance abuse counseling for youth, adults and families.
