Cottage Food Law classes set

IRON MOUNTAIN – Michigan State University Extension offers several opportunities to learn about what is allowed under the Cottage Food Law, what food safety considerations are, how to prepare your home work space when producing under the law and how to label and market your own product.

Michigan’s Cottage Food Law allows individuals to produce certain low-hazard products in their home kitchen to sell directly to consumers.

Upper Peninsula Cottage Food Law classes to be offered include:

— Jan. 30, 6 to 8 p.m. Central time, Dickinson County Library, Iron Mountain.

— Jan. 31, 6 to 8 p.m. Central time, Menominee County ISD Building, Menominee.

— Feb. 19, 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern time, Marquette Commons, Marquette.

— Feb. 20, 6 to 8 p.m. Eastern time, Delta County MSU Extension office, Escanaba.

— Feb. 26, 6 to 8 p.m. Central time, Gogebic Community College, Ironwood.
