Vehicle crashes into building in Norway
A 33-year-old Iron Mountain man was transported to the hospital for unknown injuries after his 2002 Jeep Liberty crashed into the side of the former Norway Inn about 5 p.m. Wednesday. The man was driving east on U.S. 2 into Norway when his vehicle left the road, crossed the median and westbound lanes of traffic, went into the ditch and collided with the building, Norway Police Chief Jim Shafer said. A suspected medical condition led to the accident, Shafer added. The man was cited for careless driving and re-evaluation to the Secretary of State for driver license purposes. Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and North Alert Ambulance assisted Norway police. The Norway Inn closed for business earlier this year.
