Juul selected DAR nominee for Iron Mountain High School

IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain High School senior Trent Juul has been selected by the Iron Mountain High School faculty as the nominee for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen program. He was selected for exhibiting the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

He is the son of Tamara and Steve Juul of Iron Mountain.

Trent is the recipient of the IMHS Academic Excellence Award, earning him a place on the IMHS Honor Roll for six consecutive semesters. He is a two-year member of the Iron Mountain High School Honor Society and has also earned an invite to the IMHS Honor Banquet for three years. He is the recipient of the Air Force Math and Science Award and named the IMHS Math Student of the Month.

Trent is always looking for ways to make his school and community a better place for all. He has participated in Key Club, currently serving as the president. In this role, he took the initiative to get his fellow classmates involved in Key Club and assist the community with several volunteer activities. Trent is a member of the IMHS Student Council, currently serving as vice-president and is a four-year member of the Youth Advisory Committee, serving as a board representative this year.

In addition, Trent has participated in four years of football, receiving All Mid-Pen Conference Honorable Mention Center and All UP Large School Center, along with being a playoff captain during his senior season. He also is a four-year member of the varsity tennis team and currently serves as an assistant captain of his varsity hockey team.

Trent has been described by his teachers as “excellent role model, possesses good character, enthusiastic, exhibits high morals, and just an all-around best choice.”

Outside of the classroom, Trent has also given his time and talents to volunteering for the local Little League and Youth Football Program. Trent is a well-rounded individual and it is because of these demonstrated quality character traits that her has earned the DAR nomination. He serves as a positive role model for all students at Iron Mountain High School, school officials added.
