Councils schedule meetings

The Iron Mountain City Council meets tonight at 6:30 at the council room of the City Hall, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.

A public hearing on the rezoning for the village of Lake Antoine plat will be held following consideration of the rezoning under old business.

New business on the agenda includes the release of a reverter clause for 214 West F St., approval for the police department to purchase backup service weapons in lieu of trade-in, and authorization to solicit proposals for an actuarial analysis of Other Post Employment Benefits, or OPEB.

The Kingsford City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council room, located upstairs of the City Hall building, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.

Purchase agreement language for Evergreen Heights Inc. will be considered under old business with 2016 project contract modifications for Breen Avenue under new business on the agenda.

The Florence County Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the courtroom of the Florence County Courthouse.

The Norway-Vulcan Area Schools Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the school for a reorganizational meeting.

Action items include appointment of board officers, committee members, setting monthly meeting dates and times, and setting depositories for school funds.

The regular meeting will follow at 6:50 p.m.  The agenda includes second reading on 17 policy updates, setting a date for a committee of the whole meeting, review dates for board training and retreat, and board iPad distribution and training.

The Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Conference Room A of the ISD offices, 1074 Pyle Drive in Kingsford.

Old business includes board committee reports and action on financial and human resource software bids.

Under new business, School Board Recognition Month will be recognized; action taken on revised job description for family and community partnership coordinator with health component responsibilities; approval to submit request for waiver of Head Start Program performance standard for center based group size; approval of revisions to the Head Start guidelines and personnel/program procedures; and action on two requests for unpaid leaves of absence.
