Radon test kits

Maria Brown purchases a radon test kit at the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department with assistance from Tina Erickson, environmental health clerk. January is Radon Action Month. Radon is the second-leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the U.S., claiming approximately 20,000 lives annual, or slightly more than two every hour. For the month of January, the health department has reduced the cost of radon test kits to $5 for the short-term test and $10 for the long-term test. For more information regarding the department’s Radon Program, call the Kingsford office at 906-779-7239 or the Iron River office at 906-265-4172.
