Jumpers from Austria, Norway win Pine Mountain meets
IRON MOUNTAIN — Stefan Huber of Austria soared to a narrow victory over Klemens Muranka of Poland in Sunday’s first competition at the Bellin Health Pine Mountain Continental Cup tournament.
Huber scored 259.5 points to edge Muranka, who totaled 259.2.
Muranka had the longest jump at 140.5 meters, or 461 feet, just 10 feet shy of the hill record.
Clemens Aigner of Austria placed third.
AJ Brown was the top American jumper, placing 28th.

The wind picked up with about 10 jumpers to go in the final round.
“It was a little bit windy as always. The first competition, I did really badly for me,” Granerud said. “Then I thought a little bit and realized it’s a lot of headwind. In the second competition I was a lot more aggressive and it worked really well.”
Granerud placed 21st in the first competition.
