DCHS limits visitors

IRON MOUNTAIN — Visitor restrictions are in place at Dickinson County Healthcare System in Iron Mountain until further notice due to the increased numbers of respiratory illness and influenza, hospital officials announced.

The restrictions include:

— Children, under age 14, are not permitted to visit unless they have a medical appointment or Emergency Department visit.

— Visitors to the Family Birthing Center are limited to labor coaches and grandparents.

— Anyone with symptoms of a cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea are asked not to visit the hospital.

Hospital officials said that the visitor restriction is evaluated on a daily basis by the Infection Control Committee.
