Green Bay man in custody after high-speed chase

IRON MOUNTAIN — A Green Bay, Wis., man reportedly involved in a high-speed chase May 13 from Iron Mountain to Amberg, Wis., is in jail in Wisconsin’s Brown County for violating his parole.

Ziak Vang, 33, was arrested a few hours after the pursuit ended in a wooded area off of Jackson Pine Lane, Iron Mountain Director of Police and Fire Services Ed Mattson said. 

Vang was on parole at the time after serving four years in the Wisconsin prison system for a 2013 amphetamine conviction out of Marathon County, according to online court records.

Vang will be extradited to Michigan once his Wisconsin case is complete, Mattson said.

When he returns to Dickinson County, Vang will face charges of possession of meth-amphetamine, a 10-year felony; two counts of fleeing a police officer-third degree, a five-year felony; tampering with evidence, a four-year felony; resisting or obstructing a police officer, a two-year felony; possession of marijuana, a one-year misdemeanor; reckless driving, a 93-day misdemeanor; and a habitual offender-second status.
