County, school meetings scheduled

The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. today in the circuit courtroom of the courthouse.

The agenda includes a request from District Court Judge Christopher Ninomiya to post and fill a full-time probation officer vacancy and a request from Controller Brian Bousley to increase a part-time custodian position to full-time.

The Breitung Township Schools Board will meet tonight at 7 in the board room of the administration building, 2000 Pyle Drive in Kingsford.

The second reading and adoption of a policy is on the agenda along with the Breitung Township Education Support Personnel Association committee report.

The North Dickinson County School Board meets today at 6 p.m. at the high school library in Felch.

Business items include the year-end budget, staffing assignments, first reading of policies, probationary status and a closed session to discuss negotiation strategies.

The Breitung Township Board of Trustees will meet today at 7 p.m. in the board room of the offices in Quinnesec.

A website redesign recommendation will be considered under old business.

New business includes the 2017 KIND contribution and the Economic Development Alliance pledge.

The Niagara School Board will meet today at 5:30 p.m. in the high school learning materials center, 700 Jefferson Ave. in Niagara.

New business includes Northeast Asphalt quote, youth options form, Niagara School District fees, and resignations from Theresa Stockel as senior class adviser, Jake Oratch as junior high football coach and Sharon Antonissen for One-Act and majorettes adviser.

The Florence County School District Board’s building and grounds committee meets today at 4 p.m. in the distance learning lab of the high school in Room 456.

The committee is meeting to get an update on the building project.

The regular meeting of the board will follow at 5:15 p.m. in Room 456.

The University of Wisconsin-Stout research study on the Fab Lab and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math will be discussed under old business.

New business includes a shared service agreement for speech and language with Goodman and a coaching resignation.

A closed session is also planned to consider support staff vacancy, elementary principal contract, business manager contract and accounts payable/payroll clerk contract.

The Iron Mountain School District Board will hold a special meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the board room of the administration building, 217 Izzo-Mariucci Way in Iron Mountain.

The Norway-Vulcan Area Schools Board meets Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the school library.

The board will be closing out the 2016-17 school budget and be taking action on the 2017-18 budget.
