Niagara US 141 project planned

NIAGARA, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will host a public involvement meeting to discuss a proposed improvement project on U.S. 141 between Betters Court and 4th Street in the city of Niagara.

Construction is scheduled for 2020. The highway will be closed and detoured during construction.

The meeting will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Niagara City Hall, 1029 Roosevelt Road

A brief presentation will be provided at 5:15 p.m., followed by an open-house format.

The existing pavement on U.S. 141 has reached its life expectancy. The proposed project includes resurfacing the roadway from Betters Court to Pine Street, and reconstructing the asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, and existing sidewalk from Pine Street to 4th Street. Storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main replacement will take place where necessary. Street parking on U.S. 141 will be removed from Betters Court to 4th Street.

The purpose of the public involvement meeting is to obtain public comment and project feedback to assist WisDOT in further development and design refinement. Project displays and exhibits will be available for public viewing, and project staff will be on hand to answer questions on an individual basis

Persons who are unable to attend the meeting can make their comments by contacting the WisDOT Project Manager, Paul Zoellner, at 944 Vanderperren Way, Green Bay, WI 54304; (920) 366-8547 or by e-mail at
