IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain firefighters responded to three calls over the weekend.

At 3:48 p.m. Saturday, they went to Wendy’s restaurant at 800 S. Stephenson Ave. to investigate a gas odor. They didn’t find any problems and they returned to the station at 4:20 p.m.

At 9:31 p.m. Saturday, firefighters went to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 221 W. B St. for a report of smoke coming from a furnace.

Firefighters checked the building and found it was only steam coming from the furnace exhaust. They returned to the station at 9:51 p.m.

At 1:22 a.m. Sunday, they went to a residence on the 1400 block of South Stephenson Avenue to investigate a gas odor.

They determined there was an issue with the furnace, so they shut it down and directed the landlord to have it checked out. Firefighters returned to the station at 1:44 a.m.
