Kevin L. Johnson, 29, of Iron Mountain, and Mark A. Corey, 39, of Ingalls were arrested Nov. 8 after a traffic stop, according to a press release from Richards and KIND.

Johnson is charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, carrying a concealed weapon and assaulting/resisting/obstructing police. He is in the county jail on a $35,000 cash surety bond.

Corey is charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and habitual offender, second notice. He, too, is in the county jail on a $15,000 cash/surety bond.

Johnson is represented by attorney Michael Scholke and Corey by attorney Daniel Jaspen. Both are to appear in district court Wednesday for probable cause conferences, with preliminary examinations scheduled for 8 a.m. Nov. 29.

In an unrelated investigation, 27-year-old Louis C. Jones of Frankfort, Ill., was arrested Sunday and charged with two counts of delivery/manufacture of heroin less than 50 grams; one count of delivery/manufacture of cocaine less than 50 grams; possession of cocaine; possession of marijuana; and habitual offender, fourth notice.

The KIND team, with the assistance of an informant, was able to make multiple controlled buys from Jones, Richards said.

Jones is jailed on a $75,000 cash/surety bond. He is represented by attorney Michael Scholke and faces a probable cause conference in district court Wednesday and a preliminary examination at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 29.

The KIND Drug Enforcement Team is comprised of officers from the Kingsford, Iron Mountain and Norway police departments and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department.
