Two hurt in Marinette County crash involving propane truck
MARINETTE, Wis. — Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Thursday after a three-vehicle accident involving a liquid propane delivery truck on U.S. 141 in the town of Beaver, Wis.
An auto parts delivery truck was southbound on the highway near County Road P about 10:54 a.m. when it slowed down and was struck from behind by a pickup truck towing a trailer loaded with another truck, Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said in a press release.
The pickup truck then crossed the center line and hit a northbound liquid propane delivery truck, Sauve said.
The auto parts truck ended up in the west ditch, while the other two vehicles went into the east ditch.
All three drivers were treated on site; two then were transported to the hospital, Sauve said.
Concerned about the volatility of the liquid propane truck, deputies decided to evacuate the area but found all nearby residences were vacant at the time, Sauve said.
U.S. 141 traffic had to be detoured around the accident site to county and town roads.
