Flood warning near Pembine
GREEN BAY, Wis. — A flood warning has been issued for the Menominee River near Pembine, Wis., due to a suspected ice jam.
The river in that area at 6 p.m. Friday had risen to 16.2 feet, just above the 16-foot flood stage, according to the National Weather Service office in Green Bay. Flooding should mainly affect lowland and forested land adjacent to the river, the NWS advised.
Water and ice buildups may also be occurring downstream, especially near river bends and bridges. The flooding could affect both Menominee and Marinette counties, according to the NWS.
