IM student selected to attend leadership seminar in Wisconsin

IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain High School sophomore Tamera Jaeger has been selected to attend the Wisconsin Leadership Seminar this summer on the campus of UW-Whitewater. Tamera is the daughter of Susan Kiester and Joe Jaeger of Breitung Township.

While a student at IMHS, she has participated in basketball and volleyball and has also been named the IMHS Student of the Week. She has been described by her teachers as “caring, considerate of others, willing to assist fellow students and cooperative.” Outside of the classroom, Jaeger is involved in her church, babysits and assisted with several programs at our local library.

For the past two years, she has attended the library program to build a “book tree” for patrons of the library to enjoy. From these volunteer activities, she has gained valuable experience in scheduling, planning and implementing these programs. She has expressed an interest in improving her leadership skills at the Wisconsin Leadership Seminar to bring back to her school and community.

The Wisconsin Leadership Seminar is a three-day event for outstanding high school sophomores and provides growth opportunities for students who act positively. The high-energy weekend consists of team-building activities, motivational speakers, volunteer speakers, talent show, panel discussions and more.
