Two seriously injured in Marquette County fire

NEGAUNEE — Two Gwinn residents were seriously injured in a structure fire Thursday night at a camp in Marquette County’s Wells Township, Negaunee Michigan State Police troopers said.

The 36-year-old man and 40-year-old woman, who troopers did not immediately identify, were taken to U.P. Health Systems-Marquette before being flown to the University of Michigan hospital in Ann Arbor for treatment.

Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the fire that started about 10:54 p.m. Eastern time at 58820 County Road 426.

The names of the injured people won’t be released pending notification of relatives.

Wells Township firefighters, Forsyth Township police and EMS, and U.P. Health Systems EMS assisted troopers.
