NORWAY — With the season rapidly moving along, a record crowd was entertained by The Cadillacs this past Thursday at both Iron Mountain’s Out to Lunch event and in Norway the same evening.

This week, a talented local trio will appear for the seventh installment of Music in the Park 2018. The free summertime music series will continue with Local Brew at 7 p.m. Thursday at the band shell in downtown Norway .

Formed in 2012, Local Brew is an acoustic trio playing a wide range of music, from traditional to modern pop to toe-tapping Americana folk.

Local Brew performs tunes from Old Crow Medicine Show, Mumford and Sons, The Grateful Dead, Maroon 5, Dolly Parton, The Lumineers and many more. Members of the group include Katy Recla, vocals, keyboard, ukulele and harmonicas; Doug Recla, guitar, percussion and vocals; and Tony Sullivan, bass guitar and vocals.

This is their second time performing in the Norway band shell, and they are excited to return to this summer concert series. Their 2017 performance was cut short by severe weather, so they return to offer Music in the Park fans their full show.

“We hope folks that come into Iron Mountain for Out to Lunch with The Safe Sax Quartet will enjoy the afternoon, have a nice dinner in the area and come on down to the beautiful band shell park for this free performance, as many have over the past few weeks of this fabulous, free series,” event coordinator Carol Sundstrom said.

Once again, The Norway Music Boosters will sell drinks, ice cream and other light concessions. Some seating is available at the band shell, but those taking in the performances can bring lawn chairs to enjoy the music.

Music in the Park is grateful for the financial support they have received from several organizations, businesses and individuals this year, without whom this concert series would not be possible: The Curtis Brackett Fund, Law Offices of Tinti and Goodman, Eighth Avenue Antiques, Dickinson Area Community Foundation and Norway Area Preservation Society. Season sponsor is Jim’s Music of Iron Mountain, with additional support from the Norway Downtown Development Authority and Norway Department of Parks and Recreation, plus several additional individual sponsors.

Upcoming Music in the Park performances include:

— Aug. 2: Carolyn Jo & Company;

— Aug. 9: Flagship Romance;

— Aug. 16: Music Jar.

In case of inclement weather, concerts will be in the lower-level conference room in Norway City Hall.
