Iron Mountain fire department responds to calls over the weekend

IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain firefighters were called at 10:02 p.m. Friday to Days Inn at 2001 S. Stephenson Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters didn’t find any problems, so they reset the alarm system and then returned to the station at 10:39 p.m.

At 1:38 p.m. Saturday, they went to a two-vehicle accident at U.S. 2 and Margaret Street. No one was injured, firefighters said. They cleaned up spilled fluid and debris and helped with traffic control before returning to the station at 2:20 p.m.

At 8:40 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were called to the 700 block of West A Street for a burn complaint. They found a resident burning in violation of the city ordinance, so they put out the fire and returned to the station at 9 p.m.
