Sign language classes offered
MARINETTE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Marinette Continuing Education Department will offer two six-week classes for those interested in learning American Sign Language.
The first class is for those who are just getting started with American Sign Language. This class will run from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 25 through Oct. 30.
The second class will be open to those who have basic American Sign Language knowledge. This class will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays from Nov. 6 to Dec. 11.
Instructor Denise Miller has been an American Sign Language interpreter for 27 years and has been teaching ASL for 15 years.
Both classes will be in Room M-109 at UW-Marinette. Each class is $89, and participants are required to purchase “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Conversational Sign Language-Illustrated.” Interested participants may register at www.marinette.uwc.ede/ce or call 920-465-2642.
