IRON MOUNTAIN — A new tips line has been launched in Dickinson County to encourage residents to call in and report suspected drug activity and other crimes.

Residents can leave a recorded message at 906-774-8008, a line law enforcement will monitor daily, according to a joint press release from Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards and the KIND Drug Team.

Callers can be anonymous or can leave their name and contact information if they would like a return phone call, the release states.

Although the line is designed to target illegal drug activities in the area, callers can leave information regarding any other type of crime. However, they should dial 911 in any emergency situations, according to the release.

The KIND Drug Team is a multi-jurisdictional drug enforcement team comprised of the Kingsford Public Safety Department, Iron Mountain Police Department, Norway Police Department and Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.

The tips line will be displayed on bumper stickers on each agency’s fleet of squad vehicles.
