HEATHER PEPPLER JANSSEN
From left are Miranda Opolka, Janssen’s cousin; Liz Minkler, show organizer; Lydia LeBeau; Amber Peppler Giguere, Janssen’s sister; Summer Peppler Ziller, Janssen’s sister; Diane Peppler, Janssen’s mother; and Janssen’s son, Austin Janssen.

The Heather Janssen Memorial Fund presented its first scholarship in the amount of $750 to Lydia LeBeau of Norway, the daughter of Patrick and Cathy LeBeau. She is currently attending Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. and will graduate in 2021 as a doctor of pharmacy.

LeBeau had worked alongside Janssen as a pharmacy assistant at the Norway Pharmacy before attending Ferris to pursue her goal of pharmacology.

Tragically, Heather Peppler Janssen died as the result of an automobile accident in July 2012. To honor her legacy and to help support others, a horse show has been held at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds the past two years in July. All proceeds from this show and the generous donations received have been deposited into this fund.

They plan to continue to hold the show each July and welcome exhibitors and the public to attend. There is no admission for spectators.

Janssen was loved by all who knew her. She cheerfully helped her customers at the Norway Pharmacy and proudly showed her Arabian horses and taught many how to ride and care for horses. The 2019 show will be held July 20-21.
