The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250 mini-grant to North Elementary School of the Arts in Iron Mountain for its running program, “Luv2Run.” This is a free afterschool running program for kindergarten through eighth-grade students that builds students’ endurance to run a 5-kilometer race. The students learn healthy habits and are encouraged to exercise regularly. The participants in the Luv2Run program will participate in two running events this spring, a “Couch to 5k” run in Iron Mountain and the Cellcom in Green Bay.
