KINGSFORD — Norma Maxine Person, 95, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 3, 2016, at Freeman’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Kingsford.

Norma was born Christmas Eve, 1920 in Sisseton, S.D., daughter of Fred and Edith (Dallman) Williams. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School In 1939. After graduation, she worked for Cudlip’s Drug Store as a bookkeeper. She later worked as a seamstress for Rita’s Tailor Shop.

She was comfortable cooking for large groups and used this gift at church functions, Bible camps, and opening her home to visiting pastors, missionaries and friends.

Norma helped initiate the local Christian Women’s Club and Campfire Girls. She volunteered for fundraising efforts with the band club at school. Her creativity flourished in the Hospital League, making beautiful sequined Christmas decorations. She was locally known for her laugh, her easy smile, and the magnificent peonies and flowers in her backyard.
