Gary K. Ketola
FLORENCE, Wis. — Gary K. Ketola, 64, of Florence, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.
Gary was born Dec. 18, 1952, in Marquette, to Kenneth and Joyce (Lancour) Ketola. At the age of 17, he left to serve our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed on the USS Hancock.
Gary was later employed as an electrician. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was quite the jokester, and made people laugh!
When he wasn’t entertaining them with his jokes he was feeding them with some of the foods he loved to cook! Gary was a hunter and a fisherman who had a great love for the outdoors and for dogs.
Gary is survived by his two sons; Jason (Randi Bennett) Ketola of Green Bay, Wis., and Chad Ketola of Florence; mother, Joyce Ketola; brothers, Larry (Bonnie) Ketola, Dale Ketola, and Mark (Jaclyn) Ketola; and special friend, Karen Langin.
A get-together to remember Gary will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Saloon #2 Bar in Spread Eagle, Wis., from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
A memorial will be established in Gary’s memory.
The family would like to thank Nikki Sanford and the nurses at the VA hospital for her great care.
