Jean Schettler
WAUKESHA, Wis. — Jean M. Schettler, 87, of Waukesha and formerly of the Iron Mountain area, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at Linden Grove in Waukesha.
She was born June 9, 1929, in Felch, daughter of the late Ivar and Agda (Isaacson) Lindstrom.
Jean graduated from Parkrose High School in Portland, Ore. in 1947. She married David Schettler on Oct. 17, 1959, in Iron Mountain. Jean and Dave traveled frequently to Florida and to Oregon for her high school reunions. They enjoyed camping and spending weekends at their trailer.
Jean enjoyed researching family history using her genealogy skills. She was active in the Women’s Circle at Redemption Evangelical Lutheran Church and did volunteer work at Luther Manor in Milwaukee. She enjoyed music and participated in the choir at Linden Grove.
Jean is survived by her sister, Rose (Kenneth) Swanson of Clinton Township; their sons Curt, Brad, and Greg Swanson; sisters-in-law, Blanche Schettler and Violet Schettler; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, David.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of the Linden Grove Communities of Waukesha for the compassionate care they provided both to her and to her husband Dave.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Funeral services will follow Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate.
Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
