AMASA — Debra L. Wirtanen, 61, of Amasa, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.
Debbie was born Aug. 23, 1955, in Tampa, Fla., daughter of the late Rueben and Marjorie (Klase) Hansen. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
Debbie worked as a teller at CoVantage Credit Union in Crystal Falls and most recently for CoVantage Credit Union’s Iron River office.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Amasa. Debbie was a hard worker and enjoyed her work. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed playing cards and trips to the casino. Debbie loved to cook and was most happy entertaining and hosting family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan; and her brother, Michael Hansen.
Debbie is survived by her children, Bob (Kim) Gill of Niagara, Wis., Ian (Sara) Gill of Iron River and Courtney (Spencer) Doty of Bingham Farms; brother, Jeffrey Hansen of Amasa; 11 grandchildren, John Rockefeller, Laura Gill, Zachary Rinehart, Alexandria Gill, Cassandra Gill, Aly Pangrazzi, Haiden Gill, Bryan Gill, Penelope Doty, Lucille Doty and George Doty; two great-grandchildren, Brylee and Paislee Rockefeller; nieces, Elizabeth and Jessica Hansen; great-nieces, Nadia and Lily Hansen, and great-nephew, Caden Hansen. Also by her good friend, Gloria Nantelle of Crystal Falls.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 21, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls.
Memorial services will follow at 5 p.m. Friday at the church. Rev. Micheal Laakko will officiate.
Burial will be in the Hematite Township Cemetery.
